With the gym’s masonry complete, we began placing beams! The glulam ceiling beams were flown in on a foggy Friday and carefully installed within the braces, exposing the beautiful wood finish. Our team also made major progress on the steel main building’s second floor decking in Zone B over the past few weeks and even took time to pose for a photo during a recent site walk! The nub steel in Zone C was stood up and prepared for welding with the decking there going in soon.<\/p>\n
Rebar was laid throughout the second floor of Zone B and we sealed all the mechanical engineering plumbing (MEP) penetrations. The next phase of work on this building will entail pouring concrete, which can be challenging in colder conditions. That’s why we proactively planned ahead with our MEP trade partners! We worked with them to set up a temporary heat tent in Zone B, which will allow warm air to rise and raise the temperature below the steel and decking, thus creating more ideal conditions in which to pour concrete. This will help ensure the process goes smoothly so we can stay on track with our construction schedule.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the sidewalk along 16th<\/sup>\u00a0Street was tore up to complete some utility connections. We appreciate the neighbors being flexible, patient and understanding while this work was underway along their property.
